Taverna Opa Tampa opened in December of 2009. It serves Greek food, has the traditional Greek festivities of dancing waitstaff complete with flying paper napkins, and offers some nice water views for its diners from its expansive dining room, patio areas, and full bar. It is a nice addition to the Channelside Pavillion and was the subject of an article by the world renowned Food Critic of the St. Petersburg Times, Laura Reiley, in her piece on 2/24/10. Laura, not one to gloss over inadequacies of eating establishments, was much impressed with the entire operation and gave it an overall rating of 3 Stars (Excellent) out of 4.
